about

Electric Elephants are ready with a burning hot new beast of a single.
‘In The Name Of Chemistry’ is the sound of a band doing exactly what they want.

While a heatwave has laid everything bare in Denmark the Danish rockband Electric Elephants has been sweating in the studio recording the band’s debutalbum which is scheduled for release in early 2019.

The new single ‘In The Name Of Chemistry ’ continues in the same path as their previous single, their biggest hit ‘Shine Love Glow’, and shows a band brimming with confidence and a v´band that has found their own distinct style and sound.

We are still in the hardrock genre and just like on the first single from their upcoming debutalbum this new track has also been bounced back and forth in the studio in the band’s new “Sgt. Peppers”-approach where they don’t allow themselves any limitations. Everything is possible, but we may need to bring in more people.

The song runs at 7:32 minutes which is quite atypical for a rocksingle these days. It is a progressive piece of posychedelic space-rock that hints at both glam and stoner-rock. Musically ‘In The Name Of Chemistry ’ is at its very core built on a heavy rhythm section from shakers, drums and bass, topped with massive guitars, percussion and didgeridoo.

”a metallic power-trio with space-rock flourishes, early-Seventies heavy-blues muscle and its own Dave Grohl in singer-drummer Mads Jaurnow, who drove the thunder from below while howling with shredded poise and, at times, an eerie-R&B falsetto overhead.”
- David Fricke (Rolling Stone Magazine & Sirius XM)

‘In The Name Of Chemistry’
Music & Lyrics by Electric Elephants

Tears are made to swallow
The grin of the beast feeds off the child
But nothing seems to break you no matter how hard I try

Beneath this rotten ceiling lies only bones of jealousy
My happiness is pretend
I live in the name of chemistry

You're not the way I found you
You used to be worth more than a dime
But living in this daydream is dragging you down 'til end of time

You are disconnected from yourself
All the eyes around you just can't tell
Underneath you try to crack a smile
The madness of a child

You are disconnected from yourself
All the eyes around you just can't tell
Underneath you try to crack a smile
But you will not be able for a while
'Cause you are disconnected from yourself
You can't break my spell

Live in the name of chemistry x 2
